City of Tshwane, South Africa
The Tshwane has secured a permanent interdict against its striking employees, following weeks of disruptions, intimidation, and service delivery shortfalls.
The municipality approached the Labour Court in July after some employees embarked on a strike to force the city to honour the last year of a three-year wage agreement. The court granted an interim interdict, declaring the strike unlawful and unprotected, but the strikers refused to return to work.

On Friday, the court made the interim interdict permanent. The order prohibits strikers from participating in the strike, intimidating non-striking colleagues, or damaging property.
The municipality said it trusts that strikers will respect and comply with the court order and return to work immediately.
A court has ordered striking workers in Tshwane to return to work and stop their strike. The strike has been causing problems for the city and its residents, and the court has said that it is illegal. The workers must now obey the court order or they could face consequences such as fines or even jail time.
