Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is facing multiple legal challenges after being ousted from power in a no-confidence motion. One of them is the Toshakhana reference, which accuses him of receiving luxury vehicles and gifts from foreign leaders as bribes.
The session court in Islamabad has issued an arrest warrant for Khan and directed him to surrender by March 16, 2023, or face a police operation outside his residence in Lahore. Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has approached the Islamabad High Court for bail and relief for its chief.
Meanwhile, Khan has reportedly dodged arrest by hiding inside his house and avoiding the police officials who came to detain him.
