Election symbol given to him by ecp is the Moor. Brig. Shah is a former Director General of the Intelligence Bureau of Pakistan. He joined the PTI in 2012 and was elected to the National Assembly from NA-61 (Rawalpindi-III) in 2013 and again from NA-118 (Nankana Sahib-II) in 2018 on a PTI ticket.
If elected in 2024, Brig. Shah has stated he will work to strengthen governance, stimulate economic growth, and improve public services in his constituency. His main opponents are from the Pakistan Muslim League-N. The general elections are scheduled for October 2024.
