Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered all ministries and forces to provide assistance to the Moroccan people after a powerful earthquake killed hundreds of people.
PM Netanyahu said that Israel will “help in any way we can” and that the people of Israel “extend their hands to our friends, the people of Morocco, at this difficult time.”
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has ordered the IDF and Defense Ministry to prepare to provide immediate emergency assistance.
Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has also contacted Moroccan authorities to see how Israel can be of assistance.

The earthquake struck the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco on Friday night, with a magnitude of 7.2. The death toll has not yet been officially confirmed, but is estimated to be in the hundreds.
